Reports on Japanese teaching practice

These past works written in Japanese are all related to my Japanese teaching practice in Jeju (South Korea) and Tokyo (Japan).

[I discussed how a teacher can design intermediate level's conversation classes in which learners can achieve tasks by using Japanese language and by expressing themselves in their own words.]

Tsuchiya, N (2007). OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview)の理念を活用した日本語中級会話の授業 [On the Idea of Oral Proficiency in Intermediate Japanese Conversation Classes]. 언어학연구 [Study of Linguistics], vol.12(2), 93-106.

[In this journal, popular Japanese expressions among Japanese learners in Jeju National University were surveyed. Even among very small group members, common popular expressions existed.]

Tsuchiya, N (2009). 韓国の日本語学習者の間で注目される日本語・流行する日本語 [Japanese expressions which are took notice of and popular among Japanese learners in South Korea]. Nihongogaku [Japanese linguistics], vol.28(14) 108-121.

[I discussed how a response expression naruhodo, which is somewhat hard to produce for Japanese learners, is used among Japanese native speakers in ACTFL-OPI data. The journal revealed naruhodo is used when a speaker’s question in the discourse was cleared up.]

Tsuchiya, N. (2012). OPIに見られる聞き手の応答表現「なるほど」について

[A response "naruhodo" seen in Oral Proficiency Interviews]. Aoyamagobun, 42, 54-68.

[I reported how I designed a Japanese speaking class for international students in Aoyama Gakuin University. On the basis of their needs, Keigo activities, a talk-show style interview, etc. were introduced in the class.]

Tsuchiya, N. (2013). 「日本語中級A」教育実践報告 [An educational practice report on “Intermediate Japanese A”]. Aoyama Standard 8, 101-118.

[This journal reported one example of class design of Japanese culture and society classes for advanced learners. By using Internet and Japanese newspaper research systems, each student made a presentation about his/her interest in Japanese cultural aspects.]
